Join us as Design Engineer Electrical Hardware at Mechanical and Electrical Design group within the section Traction Battery System. We are dedicated to electrify our brand in a broad effort with Plug-In Hybrids (PHEVs) and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs). At the engineering department of Propulsion Energy Systems, we are responsible for design and delivery of the technical solution of Traction Battery systems for electrified vehicles. We cover the complete product development of mechanical, electrical and software. We are the core competence center in Northern Europe in regards to Lithium Ion technology and automotive battery systems.
The department Mechanical and Electrical Design is responsible for designing HW components for the Traction Battery System. You will be part of an engineering team that develop engineering solutions fulfilling attribute requirements and manufacturing process demands within decided cost and time frames. The work includes contacts with other engineering departments, CAE teams and manufacturing engineering within our company as well as with external suppliers.
Main responsibilities
• Review and support the development of design of electrical Hardware components, HV/LV cable routing and BDU (Battery Disconnect Unit) assembly design.
• Balance and optimize electrical HW design against electrical requirements.
• Optimize packaging of components and participate at package meetings for resolution of mechanical conflicts and clearances issues.
• Design parts in the electrical/mechanical for HV/LV interfaces.
• Responsible to ensure that the technical documentation (3D Model, TCE, 3DPMI) is available at the right level and at the right time
• Dimensioning of connectors and cables regarding insulation, current, EMC, etc.
Required qualifications
• Technical education at university level
• Experience as a design engineer for electrical Hardware for at least 3-5 years.
• Skilled in CATIA V5
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Knowledge of EMC and shielding and knowledge of connector systems are meritorious

• Structured way of working and good documentation skills
• Positive attitude
• Self-driven, result oriented and flexible
