Design Engineer - Powertrain Mounts System
Are you ready to work in an challenging and exiting area help fulfilling all attribute targets with high focus on NVH, Driveability, Ride comfort and durability? Then you should apply for the work as Design Engineer - Powertrain Mounts System.
Our section Air Induction System & Powertrain Mounts operates within the department Powertrain Installation. The section consists of around 50 persons and is divided into 3 groups. This position is within the Powertrain Mounts System, a group which consists of 18 men and women. We are of different ages, background and experience.
As a Design Engineer at Powertrain Mount System, you have the responsibility to design for "Build to print", ie the department handles all the design and production of technical documents which the selected suppliers use for manufacturing. You will be responsible for some components within the area of powertrain mounts and you will be working in one of our teams with other design/CAE and GDL, to a specific project. The work is cross-functional with many contacts both within and outside Volvo, in many cases in an international environment where English is used for communication. Time is valuable. Having a structured work schedule and managing your tasks well is of the essence.
Main responsibilities
* Responsibility to design for "Build to Print"
* Responsible for components within powertrain mounts
* Project oriented work tasks
* Manufacturing friendly design work in Catia V5, surfaces and solids.
Required qualifications
* You need at least a B.Sc. grade within mechanics or mechatronics, or a similar education
* Fluent in English both spoken and written
* Very good knowledge in Catia V5
Meritorious qualifications
* Knowledge of design work in Pressure die cast aluminium / Extruded aluminium / Sand casted aluminium / Stamped steel structures / Cast iron.
* Knowledge of design of plastic components.
* Technical material knowledge/experience of plastic/metal.
* Knowledge of linear/nonlinear FEA simulations in Catia/Abaqus
* Experience within product development and preferably within the sections technology area
