hela Sverige As a design engineer within the group Cooling System, you will play an important role in developing the design of the cooling system in future Scania trucks. In future trucks the challenge will be to find solutions for minimizing energy losses and using available energy with systems such as hybridization and waste heat recovery, and at the same time making sure all components are kept at the ideal temperature ensuring optimal performance and durability with low cost, weight and noise. It will also be important to govern the Scania modularisation, in cooperation with truck manufacturer MAN.
Together with teams of focused design and test engineers, you will help create and develop components for the cooling system.
The group consists of thirteen engineers and one object manager who are located at the Scania Technical Centre in Södertälje.
You will be expected to
Be responsible for the design of one or more components of the cooling system
From the early stages of the design process, be part of a cross-functional team and help optimise components with regards to performance and cost
Cooperate with cross functions such as test engineers, production, service methods, purchasing, calculation, other design groups and plan the development and verification of the components in the cooling system
Represent Scania in meetings with suppliers
Contribute to improvement of both our product and methods with guidance from Scania's leadership principles

Requirements
You are a graduate engineer, or equivalent, with an interest in vehicles and structural mechanics. The work tasks are both individual and collaborative in a high paced environment which demand skills in initiative, communication and ability to be a well organised team-player driven by qualitative deliveries.
Both practical and theoretical knowledge of mechanical systems would be an advantage and experience of designing cooling system is particularly meritorious.
