Carla is currently recruiting a Head of Group Business Control (Deputy CFO) with strong financial acumen, looking to scale one of the fastest growing startups in Stockholm - ever. Your job will be to implement and ensure best-in-class frameworks and practices around financial strategy, controlling, cash flow management and gross margin operations.

Recruitment need

Carla is growing at the speed of light and we are currently looking for an experienced Deputy CFO to join our growing finance team. Since Carla will soon expand both vertically and geographically, we are looking for someone to support us in this exciting growth phase.

As Carla's Deputy CFO, you will make sound decisions regarding budgeting, cash flow management, reporting and other financial matters. We believe you have a proactive approach to value creation, financial management and business development, and are known to raise the bar and go above and beyond to exceed expectations.

Carla is a scale up where some things are in place, others are not. We are looking for someone who knows what great looks like, and who is able to lead others, but who is also not afraid of rolling up their sleeves when things need to get done.

Role Description

As Carla's Deputy CFO, you will be supporting the CFO and wider management team in executing ambitious plans and supporting strategic decisions based on financial data and insight. You will have the overall responsibility of making sure Carla reaches its financial targets and goals. You will run end-to-end FinOps including financial reporting, gross margins, cash management, financial systems and FP&A.

You will implement and ensure best-in-class frameworks and practices around compliance and controlling. You have the ability to combine speed with a deep understanding of business principles and have a strategic mindset and operational focus.

The right candidate should have a strong understanding of D2C and e-commerce, and be willing to learn everything there is to learn about consumer mindsets when it comes to cars, and the electric car market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited) to:

• Leading development projects within the Group Business Control function such as forecasting, reporting and annual book closing
• Calculate, evaluate and improve Carla's gross margins
• Prepare financial statements and report
• Constantly improve financial data quality
• Implementation of new finance systems and regulations
• Own and manage the technology for financial reporting, controls and timely results and ensure that they fit for purpose as the business grows and complexity
• Recording the company's income and expenditure using robust internal control systems
• Working closely with stakeholders within the organization creating business cases, forecasts, reporting and best practices
• Developing business controller functions together with the business controller team
• Leading and be part of process automation work streams
• Be part of, drive automation & ensure high quality of book closing process
• Developing and maintaining high standards reporting to management and board of directors
• Together with the team, be responsible for Carla's forecast process, targets setting and consolidation/presentation of the group forecast
• Evaluating new business opportunities and participate in M&A activities
• Executing ad-hoc analysis based on organizational needs

We believe that the Ideal candidate has:

• Minimum 7 years' experience work experience from roles within Business Control, current role preferably as Group BC or similar senior roles
• Demonstrated working knowledge of Controlling, Corporate Finance, Asset Management, Treasury, IR, and M&A
• Vast experience in stakeholder management
• Proficiency in handling and interpreting advanced numerical data
• Solid experience in overseeing cash flow, cash management & working capital

Educational background:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Nice to have:

• Due to Carla's planned expansion, experience from a complex FX environment with numerous intercompany transactions is meritorious
• Experience working with RPA is also a plus
• Background in growth-stage marketplaces and/or B2C or /D2C businesses

Reporting structure:

• Reports to CFO Hana Kang
• You will also interact with Carla's management and employees, external stakeholders, shareholders, auditors, banks, professional advisors, and suppliers
