Group Trucks Operation (GTO) Manufacturing Planning is part of CPA Manufacturing within Group Digital & IT. We are key enablers of the Volvo Group transformation journey and maintain the complete life cycle for Core business critical applications for the Volvo Group. GTO Manufacturing Planning consists of about 45 people working full time with analysis, development, test and solution design for 5 applications used in the operational planning to produce trucks for the Volvo Group.
This is how you could make an impact
We are now looking for a colleague to join the GTO Manufacturing Planning management team in the position as Delivery Manager for the Slotting & Sequencing portfolio with 2 applications and a team consisting of 8 direct reports and consultants. Your role is to develop people, work with life-cycle management and secure deliveries to the GTO MTM target map. The applications in your portfolio are CSO (Chassis Sequence Optimizer) and OPT (Order Planning Tool). All employees and consultants in your department are in Gothenburg and they have diverse competencies required for a professional IT Delivery, like Solution Leader, Solution Architect, Software Engineers, Solution Engineers etc. The tech stack for the applications is C#.NET and SQL server.
As a Delivery Manager you are leading the Slotting & Sequencing development team with production critical software used globally in more Volvo Group plants. You are an experienced manager and leader with a technical background and are well versed in areas of agile development and product management. You like to interact with stakeholders and join dialogues in subjects like digitalization, quality in runtime, people development and agile software development.
These are some selected responsibilities:
Setting the strategy and roadmap for your delivery in close collaboration with Business Sub-Portfolio Managers, Solution Leaders and Line Management
Developing an effective and happy team
People management - Talent retention and recruitment
Stakeholder management with different D&IT Directors and Project Managers
Secure products quality aligned with compliance, budget and SLA
Foster an open, honest, and collaborative mindset within the team and other stakeholders
Who are you?
We believe you want to take your career to the next level, working with people around the world and the local development team in Gothenburg. To be successful in this position we believe you have a university degree or equivalent, previous management experience and a few years of experience working with manufacturing software or processes.
In your previous roles, you have delivered value as a part of software development or runtime for business-critical applications, and you understand the latest development in software development and agile processes. Furthermore, it is beneficial if you have been working with product or solution management. In addition to this, you are a passionate believer in continuous learning and see the value of open and honest communication.
Required competencies:
Min. 2 years of experience as a Manager within IT or Solution Management (Product Owner, Solution Leader, Delivery Leader, ...)
Good knowledge of manufacturing processes or software in general
Highly developed interpersonal skills: communication, cooperation and stakeholder management
Strong organization skills, high level of accuracy, sense of urgency and attention to quality
Innovative mindset and problem-solving attitude
Willing to work at least 3 days a week from the office in Gothenburg
If you have experience from either hands or leading teams in C# or .Net its considered a great merit
Fluency in English and Swedish
