Quality Information is a group of analysts and data engineers at Scania working with advanced data analysis and management of information connected to the quality of our products. Since quality is a core value at Scania these results are used throughout the organisation as support for various strategic decisions.

Job description
You will work in collaboration with other scientists, engineers and business analysts to develop solutions to challenging business needs. Each new assignment differs from the previous through new demands on statistical analyses, usage of new data sets and working with new people.

You will be part of a team with different specialties and responsibilities, that always strive to deliver as a team. To be successful at your job, you need to be an effective communicator, understanding the business needs and communicate the outcome in an understandable way, you understand the big picture while you take charge of your own work.

The analyses have in common that they play an important role in improving Scania's product quality hence our customers Uptime and profitability. Example of assignments you will work with are prediction of repair cost and supporting root cause analysis. You will integrate new analytic techniques and methods into our existing core processes.

Your profile
You have a M.Sc. in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
You have excellent problem solving skills and the ability to receive and understand the business needs from different internal customers, solicit enhancement requirements from the users, and convert the requests into a structured workable solutions. You are curious and have a genuine interest in developing in the role as data scientist/analyst.

You have skills such as;
• comfort with relational databases and SQL
• deep knowledge in at least one scripting language, R, Python
• understanding of appropriate statistical or machine
learning techniques to use in different circumstances.
• experience from big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark
• experience with BI-tools like Power BI, Qlick or similar
• product knowledge within the vehicle industry
• project management

As the corporate language is English, you need to be proficient in written and spoken English.
