The Big Data group is a part of Volvo Cars Research and Development organization.
Data is transforming the society and business in an ever-increasing rate and scale, and the Big Data group is committed to position Volvo Cars among the best in the discipline. This is achieved by constantly evolving state-of-the-art methodology, maintaining the technical center of excellence, research collaborations, and owning the resources required to process the vast amounts of data involved.
The Big Data group interacts closely to challenge itself and find new, stimulating perspectives where the use of Big Data methods revolutionize and strengthen various parts of the company and our products. The group is growing and we are now looking for a Data Scientist to join us.
Main responsibilities
* You will use a variety of data sets to develop Big Data methods that contribute to the company in different and disruptive ways. As an active team member, you will also discuss, review and coach other team members' progress. You will also develop your skills by reading from and participating in cutting edge research initiatives.
Required qualifications
* MSc degree in Computer Science, Applied Math, Statistics or related field
* Clear understanding of statistical and machine learning algorithms
* Advanced and agile programming skills for data processing and analysis
Meritorious
* Previous experience from applied Big Data or related areas
* PhD degree or research exposure in data analysis and machine learning
