As Data Modeller in the Data Architecture team, you will be at the centre of Information Management in Nordea's Retail Banking operations. You will become part of a skilled and dedicated team of Banking and Technology experts with varied backgrounds.
The position we offer
The Data Architecture team within Group Functions COO is responsible for Data Modelling services in Nordea's Common Data Warehouse and the future hybrid Big Data and DW platform.
The COO (Chief Operating Officer) organisation has been created to fully implement one operating model by harmonising processes and services to support the simplification and compliance activities in Nordea.
As Data Modeller, you will play an important role in understanding information requirements and translating them into holistic designs that can be built, tested and released by the skilled engineers within Data Engineering. You possess good listening, comprehension and overall communication skills, and are able to quickly understand what both business and technical stakeholders consider important.
As you will join a team of modellers, your unique skills will be a complement to your peers. You will help create a sharing and learning environment that is the key to our future success and ability to adapt to new challenges and improved ways of working.
In essence, you will:
• Create database designs based on banking process / business requirements
• Perform data profiling analysis and define transformation rules
• Create specs detailing the mapping of operational data to your designs
• Assist development, test and business teams with understanding
• Share your expertise with your fellow modellers and colleagues
• Contribute to the advancement of the Data Modelling discipline
The position is located in Stockholm.
The qualifications you need
We are looking for who are skilled at balancing the business needs with the IT perspective, with a consulting approach to IT development. You are known for applying a calm, flexible and open mind-set when cooperating and communicating with colleagues and stakeholders.
You have a concrete knowledge of the fundamentals within Information Management design principles. Therefore, you are able to guide developers, testers and business stakeholders through these designs and communicate effectively at a level best suited to the listener. To focus on problem solving and system / process decomposition comes natural to you and means you can explain complexity using simple terms.
You have:
• 5+ years' experience of working with SQL coding, Data modelling in the Financial Services, Teradata RDBMS and translating Banking process requirements (e.g. GL, Payments, Reg).
• Proven experience working with Teradata FSDM / FS-LDM & 3NF and Erwin data modelling tool.
• At minimum a Bachelor's Degree in IT or Business.
• Professional skills in written and spoken English.
In addition, it would be highly valued - but is not required - if you have experience of working with Dimensional Modelling, Advanced SQL Skills (sprocs, olap, ordered analytical) and ETL Framework. Moreover, it would be beneficial if you have professional skills in a Nordic language and experience working with DataStage, Tivoli and Agile practices.
