The School of Medical Sciences at Örebro University seeks a data analyst (with expertise in statistics or epidemiology) to join Henrik Larsson's research group and Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Örebro University Hospital in Sweden. The post holder will be involved throughout the research process, supporting and collaborating with researchers in Henrik Larsson's psychiatric epidemiology research group and with Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Key aspects of the job include data handling, statistical analysis and advising researchers. The appointment will provide excellent experience of biostatistical and epidemiological research. By agreement, it may be possible for the post holder to develop their own research for a proportion of their time, if desired.

Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the post holder will be conducting research using Swedish register data. This will involve developing analysis plans, preparing large and complex dataset, conducting advanced statistical modelling and disseminating the findings through publication in peer-reviewed journals. Other responsibilities include providing advice on methods and collaborating with researchers from a variety of healthcare disciplines.

Qualifications and experience
Candidates should have graduated in a discipline which included training in quantitative methods, such as the statistical, psychological, health, medical, behavioural or social sciences. Knowledge of epidemiological research is desirable and experience of data handling and using statistical software such as Stata, R, or SAS is essential, as is the ability to work on several projects concurrently. Research or research support experience is desirable, but more recently qualified applicants may be considered if they can demonstrate competence.

Information
The position is a full-time permanent position. Positions announced at Örebro University are, where appropriate, subject to a trial period. The salary depends on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience.
