Customs Manager - Swedish Declaration Department

The Global Customs Department is responsible for Global Governance and process development for all of Volvo Car Group globally in the field of Customs as well as Customs operations in Europe. As a part of the operations responsibilities, we are now establishing a new Swedish Declaration Department who - together with the equivalent Belgian Declaration Department - will be handling all day-to-day operations in Sweden and Belgium. The department will consist of approximately 14 employees and will handle more than 40,000 transits, imports and exports per year and will be operating 24 hours a day, 6 days a week. To cover all activities, the department will therefore work in shifts.

As a Customs Manager - Swedish Declaration Department you will create, establish and develop the new Swedish Declaration Department, build the team and establish the customs procedures in close cooperation with our Belgian counterpart. You will lead and organise the team and be involved in the performance of customs declarations. You will report to the Senior Manager EMEA Customs Operations.

Main responsibilities

* Customs declaration procedures
* Establish work processes, set department structure and hiring personnel
* Line Manager responsibility for the department, reporting to the Senior Manager EMEA Customs Operations
* Responsible for people development, schedule planning, target setting and day to day administration

Required qualifications

* Leadership experience
* Excellent knowledge in customs and declaration, minimum 5 years of experience in an in-house customs declaration functions or equivalent
* Experience in working on international customs assignments or projects is meritorious

* Good communication and inter-cultural skills
* High intergrity
