The Global Customs Department is responsible for Global Governance and process development for all of Volvo Car Group globally in the field of Customs. The department is relatively new and many things are therefore still in defining and designing stage. We are continuing to grow and we will have big influence in making Volvo Cars the leading automotive company.
Volvo Cars customs team is deeply involved in all ongoing activities in the current transformation of Volvo Cars' manufacturing, logistics and product setup. The job will put the person directly in the crosshairs of logistics development and achieving customs compliance in a changing logistics setup. The activities we are in involved in are a mix of own initiatives fully focused on Customs such as origin calculation methodologies or the application of simplifications and other projects within sales, Manufacturing & Logistics or within Supply Chain Management in which Customs is a main contributor to the most optimal solution for the company.
What you'll do
Today the group consists of 6 people who work towards the Global Supply Chain Management in general and the regional customs functions specifically supporting them with projects, improvements, process enhancements etc. The whole Customs organisation consists of around 70 people globally. The team is physically situated in Gothenburg/Ghent together with the EMEA Customs team but works equally with Americas and APAC.
If you are the right person but not situated in Sweden or Belgium, we will either support your move or have you work from our Shanghai or Charleston offices.
In this role you will work closely together with the existing team to deliver the ongoing projects and activities. You will participate in the project teams of ongoing projects relating to our European logistics transformation and/or new car projects and/or be put in charge of one or more ongoing projects.
Do you fit the profile?
We are looking for a person with advanced experience from Customs preferably in a combination with experience from logistics or manufacturing. We think that you have experience working in projects and you might have an educational background Customs, Law or Economics but it is not nessessary. If you have experience working in the automotive industry or with lean principles it's a great advantage.
Furthermore it is preferable if you have working experience from working with special procedures as well as a broad range of computer skills (database, spreadsheet, statistics applications).
As a person you are inclusive, communicative, team oriented and have a great customer focus. We are also looking for a person who are open to change, have high integrity, courage and high energy.
