The newly established EMEA Customs Operations within the Global Customs Department, will be responsible for all operational customs matters for Sweden and Belgium. The department will consist of a number of highly specialised customs professionals in Sweden and Belgium.
As Customs Declarant - Super User you will become part of the group of Customs declarants in Sweden. In this team you will work in close cooperation with the equivalent Belgian Declaration Group and with the team responsible for Master Data. You will work as a customs declarant (i.e. create and submit imports and exports, transits etc.) as well as being the expert and the "go to" person for questions regarding the declaration system, MIC Customs. To prepare you for your role, you will start your work with Volvo Cars being trained by MIC in all the details and functions of the system.
Main responsibilities
* Prepare and submit import and export declarations supporting Volvo Cars customs procedures such as End Use, Inward Processing, Bonded Warehousing and Outward Processing
* Act as the Super User for the MIC Customs system
* Train and support colleagues in using the MIC system
* Define and perform "User Acceptance Tests" before new releases
* Support in the definition of system improvements and change requests
* Close arriving transits, create outgoing transits
* Handle communication with and incoming documentation from suppliers and carriers as well as issuing origin certificates when relevant
* Cooperate with Volvo Cars' Inbound Logistics and Outbound Logistics teams
* Participate in continuous improvement work within the team
Required qualifications
* Approximately 4 years of experience in an in-house customs declaration functions or with a customs brokering firm
* Broad computer skills and willingness to be a supportive function for colleagues is important for this role
* Knowledge in the MIC Customs System is meritorious
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
