Thermo Fisher Scientific's ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD), develops, manufactures, and markets complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis of allergy and autoimmune diseases. THE ROLE

Within IDD we are now looking for a Contract Attorney who will assist the business in negotiating and drafting commercial contracts (including terms and conditions of product sales and purchase), service, marketing, distribution, license, development, consulting and OEM agreements.

In addition, you will be responsible for providing legal support to all functions and providing training to the organization on a range of matters, including commercial contracts, product liability issues, marketing, and other compliance matters. Some knowledge of medical device advertising and marketing as well as experience in a healthcare related industry is a plus, but not required.

You will report to the IDD lead counsel and together you will navigate a matrix of in-house lawyers (regional attorneys, subject matter experts and division/group counsels) and external law-firms. You will be based in Uppsala but will support the entire global IDD business. Some travel will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide ongoing advice and support principally related to commercial contracts, proposals, RFPs, and RFQs, including the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts
• Provide legal advice on a range of legal and compliance matters, including marketing, anti-bribery/FCPA, products liability, data privacy, R&D and healthcare compliance
• Anticipate, and drive solutions for a range of legal and business issues
• Provide advice regarding customer and other commercial/business disputes
• Monitor and administer contract review as well as other approval processes and policies
• Educate and train employees on various topics
• Develop templates, processes and programs and plan and lead the implementation of the same into the organization
• Coordinate outsourcing of work to external law firms
• Develop expertize in medical device related regulations and healthcare compliance guidelines and regulations

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for someone who has a bachelor's degree in law or a related subject and several years of experience within commercial law and commercial contracts. As a person, you are analytical, self-motivated and a strong communicator with proven negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Further experience and skills that would strengthen your application:

• Strong analytical ability
• Proven ability to develop process driven solutions
• Experience developing and implementing legal solutions
• In-house experience and a solid business acumen
• Strong oral and written communication skills; English is a must; Swedish and German is a plus
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information and to independently review, redline and negotiate commercial contracts

To succeed in this role you must be a team player capable of leading and participating within cross-functional project teams to meet key milestones under tight timelines and stressful conditions and also be able to work well independently.

You have proven research and analytical skills and strong project and process management capabilities Effective communication and presentation styles, along with a strong work ethic are key for this role.
