Description of position/department
Includes all buildings and systems required for operation of the accelerator, target and instruments, interfaces to be agreed upon.
It also includes site and infrastructure preparation, construction support, all facility buildings, user and general service buildings.
Description of main responsibilities
• Deal with the direct purchasing activities for facilities in the projekt and implement the purchases together with the management.
• Assist the management in tender evaluations and contract negotiations.
• Establish the tender invitations and specifications.
• Be responsible for contract documents and action lists are drawn up in consultation with the management.
• After checking detach and complete the requisite tender-/contract documents regarding the project contracts for facilities.
• Contribute to the monitoring of delivery times, experience feedback, invoice control, complaints, and that quality is contained.
• Establish, regularly review and monitor the procurement and delivery plans together with the management.
• In the future the position could include management of a teamQualifications
• Preferebly a Master of Science or a Bachelor of Science within Construction.
• A strong documented experience of working in an international environment with similar work is essential.
• Excellent oral and written English skills are a prerequisite; knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage.What ESS can offer

The European Spallation Source ESS AB will design, build and operate a multi-disciplinary, large-scale research infrastructure based on the world's most powerful neutron source. ESS will provide scientists with unique and powerful neutron scattering instruments for the study of a large range of materials - from polymers and pharmaceuticals to membranes and molecules. The ESS project is partnered by 17 European countries, and hosted by Sweden and Denmark. The ESS will be built in Lund, Sweden, by a collaboration of European scientists and engineers. ESS is planned to produce the first neutrons by 2019. When the facility is in full operation 2025, ESS has around 450 employees.
