The post will involve travelling to mine sites, exploration properties and client offices, with approximately 85% of time in the office and 15% travelling. SRK's personnel in Sweden and Finland are focused primarily in the Nordic Region, but also provide technical support to projects around the world and international travel will likely form a part of the role.
Post Responsibilities:
The primary role is to provide competent consulting geological services to support SRK projects and clients. This will involve working as part of multi-disciplinary SRK teams providing geological input and representing SRK professionally to clients.
Main Technical Responsibilities:
The work involved in undertaking this role may include the following activities, as well as other responsibilities as required:
• Evaluation of exploration properties, exploration status reviews, sampling studies and exploration programme management. Collecting, recording and cataloguing of geological samples; core logging, interpretation of results and compilation of formal technical geological reports.
• Evaluation of laboratories used for sample analysis and relevant analysis of Quality Assurance-Quality Control (QA/QC) measures.
• Undertaking Mineral Resource estimates for projects at various stages of development in accordance with various international reporting standards, e.g. JORC, CIM.
• Conducting Mineral Resource audits associated with multi-disciplinary studies such as Technical Audits or Competent Person's Reports.
• Preparation of detailed proposals for SRK project requests by potential clients.
• General management of projects and associated multi-disciplinary teams.
Essential Requirements:
• Masters in geology / economic geology
• Knowledge of international Mineral Resource and Reserve Reporting Codes
• Advanced user of one or more modelling software packages such as Leapfrog, Datamine, Surpac, GEMS, Micromine or Vulcan
• Business development skills
• Excellent report and proposal writing skills requiring strong English language (verbal and written) skills. Swedish and / or Finnish is an advantage but not crucial
• Track record of bringing projects in on time, within budget and to clients' satisfaction
• Experience of working with a variety of commodities
• Strong communication and team building skills
• Effective organisation and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
