THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Connectivity Engineer will act as first line support to Commissioning and Service Engineers in the areas of connectivity and networking. The role will also work closely with Product Development to manage and develop vessel connectivity.
* Configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
* Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
* Adopt the working schedule according to actual workload in the company, normally starting the day in the office at 08.00
* Evaluate and find potential new technologies. Scope includes IoT, telemetry etc.
* Produce documents related to networking systems for commissioning 's, classification societies, flag states and customers
* Be a driver for improvements and development of the company 's products and processes
* IT - VPN connectivity setup support towards end-users/customers
* Try new Hardware and Software related to networking and VPN solutions
* Support service and automation department for remote support and access management

Our client has a modern office located in Gothenburg with good connections to public transportation. They operate internationally, and the role can also include some business travel to suppliers/manufacturers and shipyards in Asia and Europe. We will start our selection process immediately and please make sure to submit your CV in English.
The assignment will start as soon as possible and is estimated for long term, at least one year. Initially you will be employed by TNG but we also looking for you who are interested in working as an interim consultant.
As an employed consultant by TNG, of course you are covered by collective agreements, insurance, and wellness grants.
WHO ARE YOU?
* Good knowledge of computer networking (equivalent to COMPTIA Network+).
* Knowledge of delivery project setup i.e. where to find specific project documentation.
* Basic Automation knowledge.
* Merit with experience mobile connectivity, IoT and Industrial VPN routers.
* Knowledge of networking in the Linux environment is an advantage.
* English language: fluent in speech and writing.
