Vehicle Dynamics & Active Safety Center is a development department within the Active Safety & Chassis unit, responsible for development and verification of Vehicle Dynamic properties and Active Safety functions.

The section Vehicle Dynamics & Calibration is responsible for the development of the vehicle dynamics attributes in all Volvo products, as well as the development of methods and requirements to improve the development process. The section is also responsible for the tuning of yaw control and AWD-systems. We are 19 dedicated employees were the majority holds a M.Sc. degree in engineering.

The area is growing quickly and we are now looking to strengthen our team.

Tasks and assignments:

As a Concept Engineer you will be working with the next generation of Volvo products. You will use CAE-analysis, objective measurements and subjective assessments that you will both order and deliver, to ensure that the project content is sufficient to reach the targets. A significant part of the tasks consists of correlating subjective assessments in the vehicle with objective measurements and CAE-based simulation results, to secure that requirement targets can be reached. The various tasks and assignments will put great demand on analytical abilities and lateral thinking, as well as a strong ability to subjectively assess vehicle dynamic properties in the car.

The main assignments consist of:

Break up complete vehicle requirements to system level requirements.
Develop CAE-methods to predict requirement fulfillment.
Analyze vehicle dynamics properties and functions.
Plan and organize activities in connection to these assignments.
Report analysis results verbally and in writing.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

M.Sc in engineering, preferably automotive or control system oriented.

Requirements:

Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics.
Master English, verbally and in writing.
Good co operational ability combined with strong initiative and urge.
Drivers license.
Strong driving ability, racing experience a plus.
Knowledge of ADAMS/Car, VEDYNA, VI/Car-RT or similar.
Automotive experience.

Analytical.
