The Sprint Bioscience team has a vast experience of drug discovery from the pharmaceutical industry and a track record of taking molecules into the clinic. With a structure-based focus, we use a small molecule fragment-based platform to build a portfolio in the field of oncology. We are a fully equipped drug development unit with expertise from target expression to delivery of drug candidates. Protein production, biophysics and X-ray crystallography are integrated with state-of-the-art medicinal chemistry capabilities to create a productive platform for the delivery of high-quality leads.
The task is to support several projects with computational chemistry as a part of the team but also to take responsibility as a chemistry team leader in drug discovery projects.As Computational Medicinal Chemist your tasks and responsibilities are design of novel compounds with suitable properties together with a team of synthetic medicinal chemists.
You will work will all aspects of drug discovery where computational approaches add value, from assessment of target druggability, to evaluate screening results with following prioritization in between several chemical series, analogue expansion and optimization, establishment of new lead series and progress them into lead development.
To support our fragment based drug discovery platform you will contribute to the design of our fragment screening library. You are also going to part-manage the in-house chemoinformatics database and other parts of our infrastructure and computational chemistry toolbox and take part in the evaluation of new tools in order to increase speed and efficiency of your work.
Your role as chemistry team leader is to take full responsibility for the chemistry progress and strategic development of a project and in collaboration with other disciplines formulate and execute the project plan. Since our focus is early partnering of our projects an important role is to support Business Development in sales activities.
Sprint Bioscience is searching for a Computational Medicinal Chemist on the Principal Scientist level to enforce our drug discovery team. The successful candidate has long experience from the Pharma industry as lead chemist and a strong background in structural biology and biophysics. Thorough understanding of the interconnecting disciplines as pharmacology, synthetic chemistry, cell biology and DMPK is of great importance.
Qualifications: PhD in Computational Chemistry and relevant postdoc experience Minimum of 5 years of experience from the pharmaceutical industry as a computational chemist Proficiency in structure-based & ligand-based design using standard toolbox CMC software, as Schrodinger and MOE.
