Adecco Life Science is looking for a Senior scientist within Computational Pharmaceutics/Biologist/Chemist to AstraZeneca, Gothenburg.

The arena
Pharmaceutical Science at AstraZeneca is aiming to strengthen the modelling and simulation capability to drive efficiency and increase confidence in decision making. The current modelling and simulation capability is embedded in the early chemical development department and the early product development departments. To increase the utilization of predictive modelling we now are recruiting a temporary position to further strengthen the modelling discipline.

As a senior scientist in Computational Pharmaceutics, you will be placed in global group to explore the utility of molecular dynamics simulations in material science and in developing new delivery systems for bio-molecules like mRNA 's. The computational pharmaceutics group is placed in a global function and the role could be placed at our Mölndal site in Sweden or alternatively at our UK sites in Macclesfield.

The role
The role holder will be part of a global computational pharmaceutics network with a remit to increase usage of modelling and simulation in drug development projects to increase efficiency and increase confidence in decision making. The role holder will be responsible for developing modelling approaches to identify opportunities and address challenges in developing of compounds and products in alignment with the overall Pharmaceutical Sciences strategy. Specific responsibilities include:

* Deliver high quality strategic
* Computational pharmaceutics support to drug projects and scientific excellence in the discipline
* Identify and explore new opportunities for computational support to the Pharmaceutical Sciences process
* Develop, validate and implement modelling protocols to be used by general users
* Work across regions and skill groups within and outside Pharmaceutical Science
* Develop training material and provide training to user groups
* Drive innovation in the modelling and simulation arena

Minimum experience

* PhD in a relevant area e.g. computational chemistry,
* Excellent awareness of recent literature within field of expertise within and outside AZGood knowledge of programming and scripting
* Good understanding of R&D and the wider business
* Good track record of professional achievement and recognition in own field

Preferred experience/requirements

* PhD in a computational chemistry with focus on molecular dynamics simulations of organic molecules, polymers or biomolecules
* Able to think beyond boundaries of own job, challenging status quo and seeking opportunities for business improvement
* Excellent team working, networking and influencing skills
* Excellent communication skills
