Component responsible, Turbo

The section Boosting & Exhaust Systems is included in Power Propulsion Systems as a department in the Vehicle Propulsion within Product&Quality. The section is responsible for the development and application of Boosting & Exhaust systems hardware for VCC's vehicles. It consists of four development groups: Boosting Systems, Exhaust Aftertreatment Diesel, Exhaust Aftertreatment Gasoline and Exhaust Systems.


The group Boosting Systems is responsible for the development of Manifold & Turbochargers, Mechanical compressors, E-chargers and the Power pulse system. We are currently a group of 13 people divided into the following roles: Group Manager, Group Design Leader (GDL), Senior Engineers (SA3) and Component Responsible.


We are now looking for a colleague to be added to the group Boosting Systems, to take on the new role as Component Responsible Turbo.

As Component Responsible you will be responsible for the delivery of Turbo applications in projects and during the lifetime of the introduced product. In this role you will be responsible for the Hardware function and design of the Turbo. You will also take on the responsibility of casted stays (build to print) and fasteners (standard elements). You will work in a team consisting of the System Responsible Engineer and application specific Component owners.

At Engine Engineering we are focusing on development within our roles, meaning that there is a clearly defined plan for personal development.

Main responsibilities

* Take on the role as Component Responsible Turbo, casted stays and fasteners for all project milestones (time, cost, technique, quality)
* Work together with the System Responsible engineer of the Turbo system in the quotation-process of the Turbo
* Responsible for the verification of the design regarding technology, quality, service, environment, market adaptation
* Responsible for technical documents
* Work in close co-operation with the chosen supplier of the Turbo system
* Cross-functional co-operation with other areas within Vehicle Propulsion and P&Q

Required qualifications

* B.Sc. within mechanics, physics or other relevant field with relevant documented experiences
* Technical interest for the automotive business
* Background in design of casted parts is beneficial
* Documented experience from Catia V5 and Team Center
* Documented experience within the field of turbo charging is highly meritorious
* Fluency in English, spoken and written
* Driving license "B", valid in EU

The position requires someone with strong communicative and collaboration skills, due to daily cross-functional work. You should have positive attitude and be customer focused, engaged and loyal. Further, we expect you to have strong team attitude and be supportive towards colleagues. You are well-organized and have a structured approach at solving issues.
