We are currently looking for a person with passion for the automotive industry and competence in the area of electronic components like sensors and electrical control units.
The Heavy Duty Engine Platform among other components has a set of different electrical control units with connected sensors and actuators to support the engine and after treatment control.
You will be responsible for the complete development cycle from advanced engineering, bringing the components to production trough engine projects, supporting maintenance and aftermarket issues and optimising demands on quality, timing, cost and features.

The Electronic Components group is a dynamic group that provides world class solutions in terms of electronic components to all truck and bus brands in the Volvo Group. We are located in Gothenburg and works close to our colleagues in France, USA, Brazil, and Japan.
You will be welcomed and supported as part of a team with motivated and skilled engineers responsible for the development of sensors and electrical control units that supports engine, after treatment and transmission control.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
Lead the Global work to harmonize the development for a component area
Plan and perform releases of technical documentation
Secure all Component Requirements are captured, documented, and balanced
Make DVG updates for their technical area
Recommend supplier selection based on technical criteria
Develop and maintain technical network with Component Engineers
Responsible for planning and technical deliveries of the components within the responsible area
Proposal of technical and advanced engineering roadmap
Contributes to maintenance activities within the responsible area.
Resolve problem reports that arise within the project
Leads the development of the interface betweeen HW and SW

WHO ARE YOU?
We are looking for a team-player with very good technical competence and communication skills.
We are expecting you to have:
M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or similar education
Genuine interest for automotive electronics
As a part of a global organization it is important to be fluent in English, both spoken and written
Facing problems and changes, you need to be open minded and with positive attitude to problem solving
Working in a team set-up with global colleagues and supplier contacts you are an excellent team player, able to take responsibilities and initiatives
Previous experience of contact with suppliers is a merit
Experience within automotive industry is desirable but not a must
