We are in a search for an experienced engineer, responsible for two components in Cooling system, Electric water pumps and Valves!
This is a fantastic opportunity for you! New technologies require cooling systems and functions to evolve and develop continuously and for that we need a self-driven and initiative person.
Air intake system, Engine suspension system, Fuel system, Exhaust system, Traction battery system, Charging system, EPS system and Cooling system are part of the department called Propulsion energy system, which is overall responsible to install the powertrain into the car.
Cooling system, consist of 3 groups that work close together, Inner cooling (engine mounted components), Outer cooling (C-shop mounted) and System group (CAE, testing, pre-programs). The 3 groups are working close together and have the total responsibility for the complete cooling system in the cars.
Cooling system belongs to section Exhaust and Cooling system, where Cooling system is fundamental and a focused area regards thermal management and C02 reduction. Our job is in close cooperation with our suppliers and the different car and propulsion projects.
We are now looking for a new colleague in the Outer cooling system, responsible for the components electric water pumps and valves at Cooling system. This system handle whole project from project start to production start and you will be supporting more programmes, running simultaneously, though in different stages.
In this role you will act as Component responsible, for electric water pump and valve. You will work in Advanced Engineering (AE) projects to start of production and in close cooperation with cooling system competences, project management and suppliers.
Main responsibilities
* Electric water pumps and electrical valves (2, 3 way, solenoid, smart valve)
* Deliver supplier data (drawing, models, CAE data and other input that is needed)
* Be the Cooling system expert on Electric water pumps and valves
* Participate in package, design and system meetings to give and take input
* Supplier communication for all projects at Volvo Cars
* Maintain and develop supplier cooperation
Required qualifications
* M.Sc. degree within Mechatronic, Electronics or equivalent with relevant experience
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in product development
* Working experience in electronics and thermodynamics within automotive industry
* Technical knowledge and experience with Cooling system, specifically with electric pumps and electric valves is a merit
* Design for Six Sigma is beneficial
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Driving license (B)
