Centerstack and Parkin Climate is a department within Switches and Comfort Electronics. The responsibility stretches from early phases until launch of a new car. The section task involves development of customer functionality, project management, system design, hardware development, software development and analysis and verification. The group Centerstack and Parking Climate are responsible for SW and HW design for Climate Control Module, Center Console Switch Module, Rear Console Switch Module, Rear Seat Heat Control, Sun Sensor and also for developing 12V power outlet, 230V power outlet and USB charger outlet. Within the group we also have the responsibility of functional ownership of power outlet and charging function.

As a Design Engineer Electronics Hardware you will work with existing and new parts in current and upcoming car projects. The work is done in teams that consist of system designers, software designers, hardware designers and a task leader. You are in close cooperation with the verification group and several other functions within Volvo Car Group. This work includes many international contacts and is done in cooperation with international suppliers.

Main responsibilities

• Develop solutions, in cross functional teams that fulfil design prerequisites and Volvo Cars standards within Time and Cost frames
• Responsible for packing and electrical interfaces of components toward surrounding environment and for defining requirements on surrounding systems/components that are necessary to make the design work as intended
• Responsible for the structure, primary and auxiliary documents are correctly stored
• Contribute to the creation of Technical Regulations
• Electronic Hardware Quality assurance
• Attend and lead supplier Hardware joint reviews and delivery reviews
• Verify the solution and recommend changes of the design regarding technology, quality, service, environment, market adaptation and rationalisation
• Contribute to the build-up of experience, by participating and developing technology strategies within the area of competence

Required qualifications

• B.Sc. within Electrical, Mechatronics, Engineering Physics or equivalent level of education
• Experience of developing electronic Hardware and specifications
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Driver's license valid in Sweden
• Ability to travel
• Knowledge in Volvo Product Development System is meritorious
• Experience from electronics hardware design for automotive is meritorious
