Research and Development creates and develops the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo Cars. Seating section is part of the Interior department within Vehicle Hardware department, and develops the interiors of all our cars with responsibility for the complete design process from concept development to industrialization. The development work is mainly performed in Gothenburg, Sweden.
At Rear Seat system engineering we are responsible for delivering a great customer experience of rear seat comfort, Scandinavian luxury and safety. We lead the development of a complete integrated rear seat into the vehicle balanced to project requirements. Our diverse group consists of some twenty persons with different competences and backgrounds and who, in spite of what we work with, do not sit around. We are now searching for a Complete system specialist for rear seats.
You will be the leading authority for the development tactics, requirements and strategies for rear seats, reporting directly to group manager. Work will be performed in a cross functional team consisting of competences represented from stakeholders, concept engineers, procurement, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, electrical engineering, attribute leaders such as comfort and cost engineering among others. Your task is to define the global strategy for the technical area, the business plan, requirements and engineering statement of works as well as solving technical issues in programs.
The position will develop your strategic skills, your business acumen and your ability to make complex requests pragmatic and economically viable.
Main responsibilities
* Lead authority for the development tactics, requirements and strategies for the system
* Write system requirements to suppliers and sub systems at Volvo
* Receive, review and document requirements from other attributes
* Create design prerequisites
* Support in various task forces within projects
* Support in reviewing supplier documents (hardware, software, test results)
* Technical regulations within projects
* Support in quality actions and analysis
Required qualifications
* B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in technical area or other equivalent education
* Relevant background in seating engineering
* You have successfully participated in at least two new seating programs from start to end, with project emphasis or senior engineering emphasis
* Understanding of complete chain of automotive engineering and industrialization
* Experience from product development and cross functional work
* Knowledge and interest in interior design
* Excellent English skills, spoken and written
* Driver's license "B"
