Job Description
As a Communication Manager you will be responsible for planning, executing and monitoring communication activities that substantially contribute to Vattenfall's business goals and reputation. You will work together with the Heads of Communication for corporate and the various business areas and with other communication disciplines including Media relations, Public Affairs and Brand. Business and Corporate Communication
On behalf of the Heads of Communication, we lead or support communication topics and projects that are of strategic importance to Vattenfall and the various business areas and that improve Vattenfall's reputation internally and externally. We use our broad network and knowledge of the organization to proactively leverage synergies, identify opportunities and risks, and work with our colleagues on solutions.
The core team consists of 9 people based in Amsterdam, Berlin, Hamburg, Stockholm and Luleå, all working as Communication Managers. The extended team also includes the 6 Heads of Communication and the communication development team.
What are you going to do?
1. Project Management
Participation in national and international (communication) projects.
Taking over the sub-project management "Communication" in projects.
Drafting decision-making documents for project leaders and executives.
Bringing in a professional communication perspective.
Drafting and evaluating communication plans and concepts.
Coordinate with other project members and sub-areas of the project.
2. Analysis activities and concept development
Develop concepts and activities for holistic communication in consultation with other communication disciplines.
Drafting decision-making documents for the Heads of Communication regarding communication topics.
Checking communication concepts and ideas for their feasibility in relation to Vattenfall standards (brand management, tone of voice, etc.) and giving instructions to external service providers.
3. Professional coordination and alignment
Taking over the planning and execution of holistic communication activities under the supervision of the Heads of Communication in the context of annual communication plans for the various business areas.
Developing, producing and making available communication materials, often in collaboration with other communication disciplines and external service providers.
Advising on communication topics and supporting the use of communication tools.
Qualifications
Who are you?
As our new Communications Manager, we expect you to be proactive, with unbridled curiosity in business topics.
In addition, you will bring the following:
Relevant university degree in communication sciences or similar focus
At least 5 years of work experience within various communication disciplines, project management or a similar background
Preferably experience working in large organizations or as a consultant for large organizations
Collaborative team player who can confidently and independently manage projects, often in an international setting
You quickly master new topics and like to make good contacts with new colleagues and external parties
At the same time, you are not averse to perseverance and supervise projects from start to finish
In addition, the following qualifications are important:
Fluent in professional Swedish and English
Ability to see the bigger picture and approach communication strategically - across business areas, countries, communication disciplines, etc.
Interest in the latest communication trends that you know how to creatively apply to communication activities to help the team innovate
