We are looking for a communications professional who is motivated by the challenge of telling the Volvo Cars story and driving engagement for the company's strategic direction. You will develop communication strategies, messaging and assets for top management levels as well as content for broader target groups. You will be working in close collaboration with the EMEA organisation and Global Commercial Operations as well as the Corporate Communications department. Main responsibilities
As a Communications Director with the EMEA region your key priority is to be on top of all hot topics relevant to actively communicate or to avoid, and at the same time ensure that employees are informed about the business performance and engaged in the ongoing transformation. You need to establish yourself as a trusted advisor on communications and work in direct partnership with leaders to engage staff, and to support organisational and cultural change.
* Ensure messages and communication strategies are delivering on supporting the EMEA objectives
* Proactively prepare and support the SVP EMEA & Global Commercial Operations for internal and external communication opportunities
* Take full accountability over the messaging and PR communications activities in the markets of the EMEA region, coordinated through a matrix organisation with Corporate Communications and EMEA
* Find, create and manage communication stories for internal and external target groups
* Manage strategic planning, operational execution and follow up of communication activities to all target groups within your organisation
* Provide coaching and support to management within the area of communication
* Provide fresh thinking and use creative ideas turning complex information into clear proposals and engaging content
Desired skills and experience
As an ideal candidate for this position, you have an academic degree or equivalent within the area of communication/journalism as well as a proven background (minimum five years) in the area of communication. Additionally, some of your key characteristics include:
* Solid understanding of communication strategy in a global environment
* Proven achievements and experience from working with communications in a corporate setting
* Deep knowledge of change management and how to communicate it appropriately
* Understanding of business context and ability to create suitable communication
* Excellent presentation, writing and proof reading skills
* Project leading skills and a real passion for communication as tool for improved business performance
* Good understanding of digital channels and social media. Experience in digital projects would be a plus
* Fluency in English is required (both written and spoken). Additional language knowledge is meriting
