Commodity Manufacturing Engineering is one of the departments within the Volvo Cars Manufacturing Engineering organization VCME. The department is in charge of the following:
* Implement new vehicle programs, model year changes and running changes in respective global production site according to ME strategies and requirements
* Ensure a process-driven product development with focus on effective and quality secured production and robust design/process solutions
* Increase commonality and share best practices by working together within Volvo Cars
Within the group, we are now looking for a Commodity Manufacturing Engineer.
Main responsibilities
* Overall responsibility to define and implement production systems, tools, equipment and assembly instructions (PII) in respective commodity by using Tce IT Tool
* Define, implement and verify all needed specific commodity equipment & tools to achieve optimal availability and maintenance cost for new programs
* Secure fulfillment of component functions by quality assured assembly methods within the commodity area
* Verify and quality assure the assembly methodology and robust design solutions in virtual and pre series
* Responsible for assembly man-hours within the commodities. Introduction of new methods in order to maximize direct labour manpower utilization and achieve lower total cost
* Contribute to process driven product development by cooperating with the core engineering group for the commodities
* Interface towards Productions plants for the commodities
Required qualifications
* At least BSc degree in relevant technical field
* Practical experience of the production process
* Knowledge about the processes, methods, and tools at Manufacturing and R&D
* Fluent in Swedish and English, spoken and written
* FMEA & DFA knowledge are desirable
