We are looking for an individual who wants to be part of our design team. You will participate in our ever changing projects with clients worldwide from a wide variety of industries; ranging from medical products to toys for children; from hand tools to professional electronics. The products developed will typically vary from the smallest of handheld devices to global service design solutions. In our often convergent projects you will work in close cooperation with all various disciplines at Veryday, including for example product design, interaction design, service design and strategy design. Your role would be to mainly support the product design and the strategy design team.
We look for a person with a background in product design that is specialized in colour, material, finish and trend forecasting.
Responsibilities include:
• being in charge of Colour, Material, Finish and Trend forecasting (CMF) in our projects-working with members of our design teams, to ensure that all the important aspects of CMF are considered
• providing strategic colour advice on a single product or portfolio level to our clients
• providing exceptional visual trend research and conducting innovative material investigations
• maintaining and encouraging studio awareness of global trends in technology, design and culture
• interacting with, and presenting to clients
• worldwide traveling
Specific skills and characteristics required:
• a good knowledge and sense of colour and colour theory, material properties and manufacturing techniques
• a strong sense of contemporary trends and advanced research abilities
• a good knowledge and skills in Photoshop, 2D rendering and 3D rendering
• basic skills in 3D modeling
• strong written and verbal communication skills, also able to describe intangible features and help sparking the team’s imagination
• be dependable, punctual, and able to meet tight deadlines
• be a devoted team member and able to understand and cooperate across multiple disciplines and backgrounds
• be creative and passionate about design
• be able to take initiatives and work proactively
There is an advantage if you also are able to combine a physical product expression with a digital user interface and understand CMF trends within the digital world.
Our qualified candidate will have a degree in industrial design and at least two plus years of working as a CMF designer. You also need to be fluent in English, both written and verbal and international experience is an advantage, but not a prerequisite.
