Designed from inception for volume production, our patented technologies enable unmatched in-glass multi-touch performance for large and flat displays.
FlatFrog was founded by Ola Wassvik and serial entrepreneur Christer Fåhraeus. The company is privately held with headquarters in Lund, Sweden, near the bridge to Copenhagen, Denmark.
The Role
The successful candidate and new Chief Executive Officer for FlatFrog Laboratories will report to the board of directors and will lead the day to day operations of the company together with his/her executive management team, taking the business to a new and exciting level. With full P&L responsibility, the key objectives will include:
• Lead and drive FlatFrog through the next stage and further develop the business model
• Create credibility to handle the various stakeholders in the Consumer Electronics (CE) eco system.
• Further help effectively utilise, develop and channel the organisation to further excel.
• Be a true leader and guiding star.
• Effectively manage customer relationships as well as strategic partnerships, i.e. subcontractors, OEMs.
• Continue to ensure that the technical platform, the heart of FlatFrog's future success, is world-class and in response to customer requirements in a fast changing consumer electronic space.
• Build more effective processes throughout the organisation in order to streamline further while the company grows dramatically.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is an outstanding business leader with the will to win and the energy and drive to positively change and impact FlatFrog Laboratories through dramatic growth. This individual must be highly experienced and have the following track record or competencies.
• Proven track record from the semiconductor, EMS, ODM, OEM or electronic component suppliers industry, ideally but not necessarily in the "touch" area. Other relevant industries such as hardware and consumer electronics more broadly will also be a relevant track record to consider.
• At least General Manager experience from a leading business unit, or having held a fully fledged CEO role previously with full P&L responsibility.
• Understanding of facilitating discussions with R&D if he/she has no track record and background him/herself.
• International experience, at least at multi-country level, preferably at global level.
• Small company/big company experience.
• Experience in high volume manufacturing, understanding the disciplines within supply chain management.
• Strong executive presence, understanding how to handle stakeholders in the CE eco system and match the CEOs of blue chip counterparts.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Strong business development skills and understanding of where the market is moving.
• Strategic thinker without being very visionary, but with strong analytical skills, intellectual horsepower and ability to handle complexity.
• Educated to degree level - ideally as an engineering degree complemented by an MBA and with a track record of working in software/hardware technology companies for 15+ years.
