Operational Duties:
• The Chief Electrical Engineer shall ensure that the electrical plant and associated systems are properly operated and maintained in accordance with the applicable regulations.
• The installation must at all times be in compliance with the regulations.
• Supervise and coordinate the repair and maintenance performed by the electrical department.
• Approve the requisitions from any department for the purchase of electrical equipment to be used onboard to ensure it meets the electrical standards and codes.
• Be present in the Engine Control Room during maneuver, drills and emergencies.
• Assist the Chief Engineer with the electrical department budget proposal and the evaluation report of the Electrical Staff.
• The Chief Electrical Engineer is responsible for the AMOS System for the Electrical department and shall keep a close cooperation with the Technical Store Keeper and the Chief Engineer. He is responsible for the Electrical Stores, parts and supplies, Inventory Control and Purchase Requisitions.
• He shall work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure that the expenditures are within the limits of the approved budget
• Write a hand over report for his relief.
• Be familiar with Seabourn Health, Environmental, Safety and Security Policy and the SMS2008, and carry out the policies and procedures as appropriate to their position (Also his responsibilities in the Safety organization according to the Emergency plan and station bill).
• Responsible for ensuring that personnel under his supervision are aware of Seabourn Health, Environmental , Safety and Security Policy and the SMS2008, as it apply to their positions.
Required Qualifications:
• Certificate of Competency as Chief Electrician.
• Possess a diploma from an international recognized trade school or university as ship's electrician.
• Must hold and Electrician Certificate and have a High Voltage Certificate and other appropriate licenses and certificates as required by regulations.
• Seafarer's book
• Basic Safety Training STCW 95 A VI/1-1 till 1-4
• Survival Craft and Rescue Boat STCW 95 A-VI/2-1
• Police Background Check
• Good English language skills
• Valid Medical Certificate
