Role:
The Chief Accountant's mission is to assist & support the Head of Finance in running the financial accounting function for all INDITEX NORDICS by focusing on the largest companies.
Key responsibilities:
• Managing, training and supervising Accounting and Treasury teams. Overall responsibility for the timely and accurate preparation of all Financial Information.
• Organisation and monitoring administration projects (supplier database, scanning invoices, general services invoices, Interco, BPC, etc); Review and validation of all accounting manuals and suggestions for updates and amendments as necessary; Designing and monitoring internal controls on all aspects of the Finance department.
• Operative responsibility for monthly closings for Inditex Nordics. Provide support to Financial Accounting team with all technical matters; Monthly review and monitoring of Financial closings packages before submission to Inditex, including Interco, Consolidation packages, BPC reporting; Main point of contact for interim and year-end audits. Coordination of statutory accounts preparation and review.
• Quarterly control of VAT rates for all brands (kidswear, EU vs non EU). Review of all VAT returns Intrastat declarations.
• Monthly calculation of Corporation and Deferred tax, Support the Finance Director in other tax related reporting packages and tax contribution questionnaires, Active participation to all Tax related meetings with advisors, auditors and ITX Tax department.
• Cashflow Forecast in SAP BPC (monthly/weekly). Treasury transfers review & approval. Supplier and Group payments review and authorization (all companies, both local and international)
• Main contact for the Inditex Consolidation and Administration Department to deal with any Reporting or Accounting requirement. Ensures the correct application of Group procedures and standards throughout the Financial Accounting function. Main contact person for internal and external auditors.
Experience and Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years experience in Financial Accounting, ideally in the retail industry.
• ACA / ACCA or equivalent of advantage
Skills and attitudes:
• Fluent in English
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong accounting knowledge expected
• Aptitude for working with Excel
• Flexible
