Accounting & Company Control (ACC) is the accounting department within the Volvo Group, responsible for financial compliance in all legal entities. Financial compliance is defined as meeting all statutory requirements and internal Volvo Group requirements as described in policies, directives and in Financial Policies and Procedures (FPP).

Company Control secures financial compliance in all legal entities in close cooperation with relevant stakeholders through the ACC responsible and the Chief Accountant roles. Company control also manages the local tax administration and local treasury related tasks in accordance with directions and approvals from Corporate Functions. Company Control reviews the legal entity finance and is proactive regarding risk management while securing adherence to Volvo Group Policies, directives and instructions.

Job description:
In this position you will be the Chief Accountant for a number of Holding Companies. You will become part of a team with highly skilled and engaged colleagues. One key success factor, besides having a passion for accounting, is that you are a true team player and have good networking skills.
The Chief Accountant is the one who is responsible for the accounting records and their accuracy within a legal entity. The purpose of the job is to provide both internal and external parties with meaningful, accurate and timely legal entity financial information. The chief accountant should ensure completion of all statutory and compliance reporting for the legal entity that he/she represent. One very important part of the job is to be updated with all the latest changes in accounting policies and reporting requirements, and to make sure these are implemented in the legal entity reporting. This will be done in close collaboration with your colleagues in Poland and India responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure delivery of the complete financial statement for the legal entity
• Drive daily control and monitoring within all relevant accounting processes
• Ensure that the figures are analyzed and documented according to Volvo guidelines
• Consolidate, report and deliver monthly and annual closing of the legal entity results
• Coordinate and facilitate audits for the legal entity
• Ensure compliance with internal control objectives, local GAAP's and Financial Policies and Procedures
• Support the different stakeholders throughout the entire closing process - not only within own function/organization
• Drive/be a part of project where the legal accounting is involved and need to be represented

Preferred educational requirements and experience:

• Academic degree in economy/ finance or equivalent education
• Minimum of five years of advanced experience in the field of accounting
• Experience from SAP R/3 and BCS
• Good knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
• Experience from working with finance & accounting processes
• Good knowledge about IFRS, FPP and local GAAP
• Proficiency in Swedish and English both verbal and written
