The team is responsible for the quality of the existing product range and raw materials used in manufacturing sites. Furthermore, the Product Solutions team is also responsible for the product quality at our customers and work together with Sales and Marketing to ensure that best practice is used in customer processes. We perform incremental development of new products and troubleshooting when our customers face difficulties. We work in a project driven organization, with strong customer focus with the attitude that nothing is impossible. Team spirit and cooperation across functions are highly valued within our organization.

Main duties and responsibilities:
• Responsible for running Lab work request activities, and participate in SG and SGE projects, according to the goals and priorities.
• Support investigations and writing reports for Customer complaints.
• Take part and make risk analysis where needed.
• Develop excellent working relationships and strong network with the RD&I neighbouring functions like: Production, Marketing, PSRA, Purchasing etc.
• Has good knowledge of and is compliant with company quality systems (ISO 9001 / ISO14001/ ISO 18001).
• Set up, plan and execute experiments according to Experimental design as part of the product development work stream. The main part of the work is done in the laboratory (synthesis, formulation and evaluation), or at customers in production plants, working hands-on in the production.
• Analyze and interpret results. Formulate and present possible solution directions and issue advice at request or at own initiative.
• Keep up with internal and external developments in own field of expertise. Ensure transfer and retention of knowledge. Ensure knowledge of relevant standards and methods for field of work.

• A degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. Relevant areas are Organic chemistry, Polymer chemistry, Surface chemistry, or similar.
• Preferably some years of working experience in a laboratory environment.
• Ability to use a statistical approach to the design, testing and evaluation of product developments.
• Good understanding of polymer technology, preferably with adhesives.
• Strong teamplayer and ability to cooperate with others.
• High tenacity and persistence in carrying out tasks.
• Strong communication skills (both in writing and verbally) in Swedish and English.

To be successful in this position you should be a chemist with a willingness to work close with the customers and in a production environment as well as in a laboratory. You have strong delivery and customer focus with good analytical and communication skills. As a person you are curious, responsible and service oriented.

The Wood Adhesives Product Solutions team in AkzoNobel in Årsta work with a product range consisting of adhesives for the wood working industry. Our main customers are large factories all over the world producing laminated beams used for large building constructions like sport arenas, bridges, airports etc. Our adhesives are also used in the production of parquet flooring and furniture.
