hela Sverige We are now giving you the opportunity to develop in the role as Chemist at AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry. You will belong to the Product and Process Research team in our RD&I center in Stenungsund, Sweden.
As Chemist, you work within new product and process development and research. By performing experimental work, you continuously contribute to new and improved products and processes in all our technology segments. You follow the development process from start to finish and get to see results from your daily work.
In this role, you will join a team with dedicated, highly skilled people and get exposure to many different application areas of AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry. We work with a wide range of tasks including long-term research projects, short term market support as well as manufacturing improvement processes.
Main responsibilities
• Perform organic synthesis and process chemistry related tasks related to new product development/research, process optimizations, customer complaints, trouble shooting in manufacturing etc.
• Take an active part in the lab and propose changes that promote safety, quality, reliability and efficiency.
• Independently run assignments both for internal and external customers, and interpret the results.
• Communicate results and to stakeholders during the work
• Organize experiments, sampling and maintenance within an activity or project.
Qualifications
• Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (PhD, MSc or bachelor)
• Skills in synthetic Organic Chemistry
• Skills regarding equipment and practical lab work.
• Good skills in process chemistry, process safety, chemical engineering, spectroscopy (NMR, IR, MS), wet chemical analysis and validation/statistics.
• Problem solving abilities and able to handle complex assignments and take own initiatives.
• Adaptable, structured and good at prioritizing.
• Reliable with a positive attitude, good interpersonal skills and willingness to improve.
• Good English communication and presentation skills.

This is a temporary position for 6 month with a possible extension on a full time basis. You will report to the Section Manager Product & Process Research and be based in Stenungsund.
