Chassis & Powertrain Senior CAE Engineer - PT Mount MBS
CEVT is using CAE as an integrated part of product development and verification of strength and durability of chassis and powertrain systems. Joining our Chassis & Powertrain CAE team is a unique opportunity to be in the forefront of simulation driven development, using and developing cutting edge tools and methods while collaborating with the best engineers in the field. Typical work tasks in this senior role are to simulate and analyze powertrain dynamics, manage key input data, method development, and actively participate in ongoing vehicle development programs. We mainly use ADAMS/Car, Nastran, Marc, Abaqus, nCode, Matlab, HEEDS, Excel and Python in daily work.
Responsibilities and tasks
• Bridge between system dynamic analyses to hardware-specific know-how (rubber characteristics, hydro mount functions and limitations, supplier dialogue).
• Support and lead task force activities, combining physical and virtual root cause analysis, collaborate with all stakeholders, strive for balanced production-ready solutions.
• As needed, hands-on approach such as modifications of engine mount hardware may be desired to quickly link physical testing with CAE simulations.
• Provide continuous feedback loop from component and system testing to the CEVT MDO analysis capability to ensure best in class virtual predictive capabilities "CAE-to-PT Mount hardware".
• Perform multi-objective performance balancing, sensitivity studies and optimization using HEEDS MDO.
• Communicate results and design development proposals with attribute, validation and design engineers.
• Contribute to develop Chassis & Powertrain CAE-team efficiency
Profile and Background
• M.Sc. Mech Eng, or similar.
• Experience from similar work tasks within the automotive area.
• Experience of performing and documenting advanced calculations and analysis.
• Ability to work in cross functional teams.
• Ability to communicate results clearly both verbally and in writing to project stakeholders in English.
• Experience of ADAMS/Car, optimization, communication with engine mount suppliers, root cause analysis, interpretation of test data.
• Understanding of the function of vehicle suspension, elastomer mounts, dampers, springs, tires on both component and full vehicle level.
• Excellent personal drive and ability to appreciate fast paced work environment.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Basic knowledge in Swedish.
• Knowledge in French, German or Chinese (Mandarin) is a merit.
