Avalanche Studios are looking for an experienced Character Artist to work within a mid-sized team on a new, exciting self published title. You will develop art content for characters/ creatures and contribute exceptional quality art to the game. Also we want you to work with other artists to improve workflow and content pipeline. You will work closely with the art and animation teams to ensure the future success of art creation and to help continuing our high quality.
Alongside your project, you will be a member of our knowledge based platform Crafts. In the Character Creature Art Craft, you meet and develop with Character Artists cross-projects. You share experiences and knowledge with each other, in order to learn and to be aligned cross-projects on what makes the best Open-world experiences.
Required qualifications
2+ years industry experience
Previously created character and creature models for one or more published AAA games
Excellent skills in Maya, Photoshop and Z-brush
A strong sense of asset ownership though the art pipeline, taking full responsibility for assets from initial creation to implementation in the final product
Ability to create highly unique characters and creatures based on existing concept Art
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
Advanced understanding of generating normal maps from high poly models
You have an excellent artistic ability and you are driven to find the right visual feeling and quality in your work
Passion for playing and making games
A Portfolio is required demonstrating all aspects of your skills (High & Low Poly Models, Texture pages, Renders etc.). Add a link to your online portfolio in your resume.
