We are responsible for the transition from conventional powertrains to electromobility and to secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. We develop and drives the electromobility product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well as creating opportunities for all business areas within Volvo Group. The importance of electromobility is growing every day and a key component within the electrified powertrain is the Energy Storage System (ESS). At our section, we are accountable for the lifecycle management of the ESS, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase.
To the ESS section we now recruiting a certification leader to the ESS strategy and platform group
We are responsible to develop complete ESS functionality realized by HW and SW solutions. You will be part of an agile and approachable organization with skilled product teams consisting of passionate people. What will you do?
You will be responsible to set up and document the way of working in ESS. Secure that cooperation with other legal and certification departments are clear and provide support to ESS projects regarding certification. Dependent on market secure that right actions and legislations are planned for. You will be involved in legal requirements breakdown and translation to system requirements. You will work together with verification department to secure certification testing.
Since this is a fast-growing technology the legislations development is growing in number and complexity, you need to keep yourself informed with the latest legislation. You need to lead internal reviews of new legislations proposal as well as take an active role in the certification process.

We believe that to be successful in this position, you are a pragmatic team player that loves to develop System designs with the customer in focus. Since the area is in an early phase, it is important that you are flexible and enjoy working in a changing environment. You have a broad knowledge and experience of both Electrical, Mechanical and functional development. We also believe that you feel comfortable working with external partners, test institutes or authorities.
Master of Science in Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
documented experience from homologation with Li-ion batteries, identifies the regulatory compliance requirements.
confident in interpretation of legislation document.
6 years of experience within automotive systems.
2 years of experience from design within Energy Storage Systems.
good understanding of battery technologies/systems within the application of electric vehicles.
It is considered a merit if you have experience within one or several of the following: Volvos DVP process, Agile Principals and methods.
