We drive validation plans to reach the requested feature level and secure end customer satisfaction. We also manage the verification plans thanks to world class physical and virtual tests on the complete vehicle such as durability testing in rigs, fuel economy testing, reliability testing with customers and a variety of simulations and tests with trucks on proving grounds and open roads. Our skilled and engaged teams are located in Gothenburg, Lyon, Greensboro, Curitiba, Bangalore and Ageo.
Vehicle certification is part of Complete Vehicle organization within GTT. The Vehicle Certification team in Gothenburg is responsible for Volvo Heavy Duty Certificates and common System & and Installation Certificates between Volvo and Renault Heavy Duty Trucks.
We are now looking for a Certification Engineer.
Task and Responsibilities
We are in charge of conducting necessary EC/ECE (European commission /United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) certification of components, systems and Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA). To sell a vehicle on the markets we as manufacturer need to certify our products, the certificate prove that our products meet all the legal requirements in the different markets. We are responsible for certification of heavy cab over Trucks and we are now looking for a Certification Engineering.
As a certification engineer, your task is to plan and perform certification testing with European authorities, test institutes and concerned project teams. You build technical information documents and apply for Certificates. You have regular contact with engineers within the area of your responsibility and put prerequisites in the pre-study phase and accomplish certificates in time, following our Global Development Process.
As a member of certification team you will have responsibility of several certification areas. You will be involved in many projects as certification scope covering the whole truck. You will have a network both internally GTT but also towards our type approval authorities and to some extent our Market Companies. You will be recognized in the organization as an important stakeholder as our task is to secure that we can issue valid type approvals.
Further Responsibilities include:
Compilation of technical information documents.
Providing common certificates for the Volvo and Renault truck range (EC/ECE type approvals)
Participate in physical certification test within your responsibility area
Negotiate with European authority within your responsibility area
Follow-up projects for the team, give certification impact and budget estimates
Give certification requirements to projects
Qualifications:
Master of Science degree in Engineering
Experience in certification, in automotive or other areas is an advantage
Experience from product development e.g. design or testing is an advantage
Knowledge and experience of the truck range
How to work in the DVP process
Be able to take responsibility and independently lead the tasks in your area
Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English, both spoken and written.
Creative and positive attitude.
Swedish Driving license, C or CE is an asset
