Sol Voltaics AB is an early stage pre-revenue clean tech company located in Lund, Sweden with ~ 24 highly educated and skilled employees. The Company is a spin-off from Nanometer Structure Consortium of Lund University, Sweden (
http://nano.lth.se ) which is widely-recognized as one of the world's leading centres for research into next generation quantum nanoscale semiconductor materials and devices for electronics and optoelectronics applications with extensive IP portfolio emanating from the university's world renowned nanotechnology group led by Prof. Lars Samuelson. The Company is also developing its own IP based on its research and development activities in the clean tech field. The Company's aim is to become a leading supplier within the field of solar spectrum photovoltaics (solar cell) industry by delivering its unique materials and equipment that enable its customers to boost solar module performance at a very competitive price-performance point.
The Company is now in the early stage of developing a commercial offering for its PV manufacturing customers. The Company closed a round of financing of ~SEK 100M (~$15M) in September 2013 and has moved to a new locale nearby, which is more suitable to its needs.
Job Description:
As CEO you will to lead the Company through its engineering development and early commercialization efforts, including leading a new financing round planned to close during the summer of 2015.
The Educational Background:
A degree in Engineering Disciplines such as Electrical, Chemical, Material Science or Physics is preferred.
Preferably a Ph.D. but M.S. is also acceptable.
MBA or equivalent executive programs is also desired
Professional Background (min 15 years of experience):
Managed multi-disciplinary engineering/product development programs in a small company or startup environment
Preferable clean tech (solar) or semiconductor related business experience
Preferable prior CEO or COO level experience
Other Related Issues/Needs:
Interactions and experience with private company governance issues
Lead fund raising activities from private equity (VC) and corporate sources
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
Frequent international travel expected
Job location is in Lund, Sweden
