It develops and manufactures rock drills and components, and provides services exclusively for the business area. Its laboratory and research center are located in Sweden.
The Supply Chain within Rocktec Automation, has a mission to support stability and growth by close interaction with R&D and suppliers to achieve high quality, reduced total cost and reliable short lead times for purchased material.
Job description & mission
As a Category Manager, you will work with the purchasing process; from strategy and plan, to follow-up. Your responsibility will be to create the supplier strategy and to drive activities which meet the strategy.
Your main responsibility will be to manage relationships with suppliers to provide a stable product supply, year-over-year cost reduction, reduced lead times, and to work with delivery precision and quality. Another integral part of the job, is to secure that the supplier base fulfills corporate governance standards, including environmental and ethical standards of the Atlas Copco Group.
You will also work closely together with R&D in new development projects. We work cross functionally within the organisation as well as with our Suppliers and other Atlas Copco divisions.You will also work actively to consolidate the supply base to the best performing suppliers.
Experience & knowledge requirements
- Work experience within strategic purchasing or similar area.
- Proven negotiation skills and business knowledge.
- Experience in supply chain management.
- Knowledge in ERP systems (M3/Team center).
- Fluent in English, verbally and in writing.
A structured way of working is vital in this role. Focus on, and experience from, finding solutions and to solve problems is also key to be successful in this role. We look for a person with a technical interest and understanding.
Personality requirements
You should be a pro-active and goal oriented individual. This position requires strong communication skills to negotiate with suppliers. We see that you are an outgoing person with great ability to build lasting business relations. In order to be successful, you must have a high level of personal drive, strong analytical skills and strategic thinking.
