We are now looking for a Carrier Procurement Specialist to join our team in Sweden and you will play a crucial role in optimizing our procurement processes and ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services. In our department we are handling the global Carrier Management for the 4PL/LLP department of Schenker Dedicated Services. Job duties & key tasks:

As a Carrier Procurement Specialist your role is...

* First point of contact for Carriers and Freight Forwarders from procurement perspective
* Coordination of strategic-, project and tactical tenders
* Calculation and aligning of tender results
* Implementation of new Carriers
* Carrier- and Freight Forwarder rate negotiations
* Permanent market research for Air-, Ocean-, Road-, intermodal-, Rail freight and warehouse providers
* Meetings with Carriers and Freight Forwarders
* Special focus on the Scandinavian market
* Coordination of umbrella contract negotiations with Carrier and Freight Forwarding agencies
* Performance review meetings with Subcontractors, Suppliers, the responsible customer operations, the Quality- and Carrier compliance & performance department
* Responsible for establishing, supporting, and monitoring relationships with Carriers, Freight forwarders and logistics service providers
* Supporting of the departments in all carrier procurement-related topics
* Identification (independently) of cost reduction potentials and purchasing advantages as well as implementation into tender projects
* Use effective problem-solving skills to provide clear, concise solutions to business needs
* Identify cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives using data to target and drive cost, quality, delivery and lead time improvements.
* Drive accountability for both operational targets and business results
* Analyze complex business issues and turn vision and strategy into practical, actionable and quantifiable plans

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain or a business apprenticeship with a logistics background
* Minimum 3 years working experience within the Carrier procurement in Air-, Ocean-, Road- or Rail
* Fundamental experience in logistics processes and business environment
* Experiences in Air-, Ocean-, Rail- and Road freight operation
* Excellent knowledge in MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint
* Fundamental knowledge in the Scandinavian/European Transport market
* Acting independently with own responsibilities, team-minded, communicative and customer oriented.
* Strong negotiations skills
* Fluent Swedish and English verbal and written skills
* Have worked within a strong continuous improvement culture and operating system framework
* Able to find solutions for complex problems, or working with the customer in mind, being flexible and liking to travel
