CanFaster, which is CoFunded by EU, is a four-year doctoral program, within cancer research and entrepreneurship.

The goal is to faster forward the discoveries in cancer research, to speed up the time from discovery to clinical practice.

Lund University now offers up to 16 PhD positions within the following 16 research projects. You can apply to all 16 projects, but in the application process you will be asked to rank your top three projects. For general information about CanFaster at Lund University email: canfaster@immun.lth.se.

Work duties
The main duties of doctoral students are to devote themselves to their research studies which includes participating in research projects and third cycle courses.

Terms of employment
Only those admitted to third cycle studies may be appointed to a doctoral studentship. Third cycle studies at LTH consist of full-time studies for 4 years. Doctoral studentships are regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance (1993:100), chapter 5, 1-7 §§.

Instructions on how to apply
Applications shall be written in English and include a cover letter stating the reasons why you are interested in the position and in what way the research project corresponds to your interests and educational background. The application must also contain a CV, degree certificate or equivalent, and other documents you wish to be considered (grade transcripts, contact information for your references, letters of recommendation, etc.).

- Scanned copies of the complete (Bachelor and Master equivalent) and official academic transcripts in English
- Two reference letters written in the template found at www.canfaster.se. The form should be sent to canfaster@immun.lth.se with the subject Referee form and name of the applicant before the 17th of November 2017.
- Scanned copy of standardized test results (GRE, TOEFL, etc.).
- All required application material, including letters of reference, must be complete and submitted by deadline in order for the application to be considered. Documents written in other languages must be translated into English by an authorised translator.
- You will be asked to prioritise your top three research projects, and inform us if you are interested to be offered another position than one of your top three.
- You will be asked to answer a number of evaluation questions when submitting the application.

Eligible applicants will be evaluated by an evaluation panel based on merit, motivation to apply to the program, motivation for career development, measured in terms of the academic record, academic excellence, and personal qualifications such as collaboration and communication abilities. The applications will be evaluated continuously and can be contacted for interview prior to the call closure.
