We currently have the following job opening;
CAE Lead Engineer
GEELY Powertrain System Overseas R&D Center in Gothenburg Sweden is developing a simulation tool based on GT-Suite to work on powertrain concepts in a vehicle environment. This position will be the lead engineer, thus leading the development of the simulation tool.
Responsibilities/Tasks
As a CAE lead engineer working with 1-D simulations you will analyze and develop different vehicle systems. Systems like engine, transmission, battery, electric motor and cooling systems are all important to meet various kinds of legal and customer requirements in different driving conditions. Your main task will be to lead the development of the powertrain in Vehicle Simulation tool and to lead the concept development of new powertrains including engine, transmission and hybrid components. The target is to carry out full hybrid vehicle simulations in GT-Drive and support concept development of the different powertrain components.
- Lead the development of simulation models in GT-SUITE (Power, Cool, Lube, Drive etc.)
- Supervise other engineers working on the Powertrain in Vehicle tool
- Coordinate the simulation activities with other CAE teams at CEVT / GEELY and VCC
- Cooperate with the team members that are located in our Chinese office in Cixi / Hangzhou
- Communicate results and design development proposals with line management, powertrain and vehicle project teams at CEVT / GEELY / VCC and suppliers.
- Produce and analyze simulation results
- Correlate simulation results and measurement data
- Report to vehicle and powertrain projects
Needed Competencies/Skills
- PhD. or M.Sc. in Mechanical-, Theoretical Physics-, Electromechanical Engineering or similar
- Minimum 5 years of experience from similar work tasks within the automotive area
- Broad knowledge of 1D-simulations in conventional as well as in hybrid vehicles
- Experience of GT-SUITE in general; focus on GT-Power and GT-Drive
- Fluent in English and Swedish language
- Excellent communication skills and team-worker
- Cultural awareness; especially China - Sweden
Software and IT:
- GT-SUITE (Power, Cool, Lube, Drive etc.), AVL Boost/Cruise or similar (requirement)
- MS Office
- Matlab Simulink
- Database management software: e.g. SVN
- Optimisation tools
