The CAE Durability Body & Trim is one of the two CAE teams within the department of Durability. The department is responsible for the attributes Strength & Endurance, Corrosion, Retained Newness and Fire Safety. The responsibility includes target setting, CAE, testing in laboratory and on proving ground. The CAE Durability Body & Trim team performs strength, fatigue and temperature load analyses for the design areas Body, Exterior and Interior, mainly in the development phase in new car projects. In parallel with the work in car projects, method development is performed to enhance the CAE capability. The team consists of approximately 20 CAE engineers.
We are looking for a talented CAE engineer to strengthen our sub-team working with CAE analyses of Interior Trim components, such as plastic panels. You have strong focus on deliverables, you can work independently and you develop your own and the team's skills within the CAE area.
Main responsibilities:
The tasks vary from component and system analyses to full car simulations. As a CAE engineer you are responsible for everything from gathering of necessary background information, modelling, analyses to recommendations to the design engineers. Often there is a close interaction with design engineers, attribute leaders and test engineers.
Required qualifications:
MSc in mechanical, civil engineering or similar
Good knowledge about mechanics, dynamics and strength of materials corresponding master-level courses
Good knowledge about polymers and plastics
Experience of FE simulations of interior trim panels, both strength and temperature loads
Experience of the FE tools ANSA, Nastran, ABAQUS and LS Dyna
Fluent in English, written and spoken
Personal profile:
Strong focus on developing your and the team's skills
Strong analytical capability
Ability to both work independently and in teams
Good communication skills
