CAD Engineer, Interior Trim
Interior Trim is the department within R&D focused on delivering world-class interior trim for our future cars. We are responsible for all phases of the development, i.e. annual work, advanced engineering, concept development, industrialization, current model quality and cost reduction. We work to a large extent in a cross-functional product development process together with Purchasing, Design, Manufacturing, Product Planning and of course the other development units within R&D.
We are now looking for a new colleague to strengthen the group Carpets, Headlining & NVH parts. The group currently consists of five design engineers and we are in a search for a new CAD Engineer. For headlining, sun-visors and NVH parts we are mainly working with "Built to print" projects in close collaboration with our suppliers. The group is responsible of developing new system solutions for future car programs as well as updates on current models.
As CAD Engineer, you will be working in the industrialization phase of the project up until production start, and design different components to reach the technical objectives and secure the deliveries within the given time. The work will be carried out together with a team consisting of other design engineers, test engineers and CAE engineers. The role require close contact with other areas within R&D and our suppliers. You will be reporting directly to the Design Leaders, Group Design Leader and your Group Manager. In this role you will be given the possibility to improve and deepen your technical knowledge of the system area and get the chance to build network within the company, hence grow together with us.
Main responsibilities
* Making 3D models for concept and tooling according to Volvo Cars demands and standards
* Creating 2D drawings and 3DPMi (3D drawings) using Catia V5
* Tolerance settings
* Initiate and assure that corrective actions are carried out when deviations occurs
* Following component development time plans (with responsible design leader)
* Supporting team lead and be part of FMEA and verification activities
* Supporting FEM analysis
Required qualifications
* B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* 3 years' experience from product development and at least 3 years' of working experience with Catia V5
* Good knowledge and expertise in CATIA V5, including FEM module
* Previous working experience within Interior engineering are meritorious
* Experience in Teamcenter are beneficial
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Driver's license "B"
