hela Sverige Casting, Forging & Fasteners' team (CFF) is a part of the Operation Powertrain Europe purchasing organization. The team is spread on two sites (Lyon and Göteborg) and is representing a purchase yearly spent of more than 5 billions SEK.
We are now looking for an operation buyer located in Göteborg (Sweden) or Lyon (France). The portfolio is connected to forging technology. It serves the Powertrain and Vehicle plants for the EMEA region. You will drive your own business roadmap and be responsible for the commercial performance. This portfolio is perfect for someone who can work autonomously and is self-driven.
As Operation Buyer, you will be part of a dynamic and integrated European buyer team located in Göteborg and Lyon. We value team players with energy and creativity, who see opportunities where others see risks, who are willing to drive the change and strive for the best in order to deliver result.
Your main challenges in the coming 12 months are only related to cost improvement, supplier base excellence, strategy roadmap.
You will report to the Operation Purchasing Manager CFF Europe.
Missions
The Operation Buyer continuously challenges and develops the suppliers to improve Cost, Quality and Delivery performance for parts in serial production. You will lead and develop continuous improvements at the suppliers to maximize the benefit for our customers.*Manage a purchasing portfolio in a proactive mode
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers in order to secure the best cost, quality and delivery performance
• Develop improvement strategy to create the purchasing leverage
• Find possibilities and drive negotiations in order to implement extra cost savings on top of price agreements
• Use Volvo Production System toolbox to drive efficiency across the supply chain
• Drive supply chain optimization activities (SCO) in close cooperation with suppliers
• Responsible for initiating and/or negotiating product changes and modifications in production phase and participate in Quality Journals projects
• Perform purchasing activities related to production orders, logistics and financial flows to the suppliers
• Ensure implementation of contracts and agreements with suppliers
• Forecast prices evolution
• Manage risk mitigation and crisis activities
• Build and maintain a strong relationship with internal cross functional stakeholders such as engine factories, other buyers, product development, aftermarket etc.

The focus of this position is strategic purchasing, which combines high levels of technical understanding and expertise with ownership of relevant commercial issues in an international team environment. The position will work with external contacts worldwide. The position will also work internally in close cooperation with other independent functions such as R&D, Quality, Manufacturing and Logistics.

Qualification
• Business Acumen
• University degree in Business, Engineering or related field
• Initial experience in purchasing would be valuable
• Fluent in both Swedish and English, both written and spoken
• Positive attitude and target oriented approach
• Strong team player and willingness to share best practices and learn from others
• Creative attitude and energetic
• Ability to lead tasks, take initiatives and drive change
• Multicultural experience is an asset
• Willingness to travel occasionally/frequent
