We're currently looking for a Business Solutions Technology Leader to play a leading role in our dedicated Business Solutions Technology team. You will work alongside Director, Business Solutions Technology to develop and present our Biometrics and Information Sciences tools and systems strategy. It's a great opportunity to drive our vision for programming, where you'll define and enhance our new analysis and reporting environment and represent us at high-profile external forums - all while making a measurable difference to our patients worldwide.

Biometrics & Information Sciences (B&I) is the home of late stage development biometrics activity at AstraZeneca. B&I drive good design to generate the data needed for quality decision making on AstraZeneca's late stage Projects. The goal of B&I is to deliver value to the pipeline by excellence in delivery, improving decision making, and engaging and shaping the external environment whilst accessing and implementing innovative solutions.
B&I is part of our Global Medicines Development (GMD) division, the area of our business responsible for Drug Development - progressing innovative molecules into medicines.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Using your expertise to assess and improve our existing systems, providing meaningful advice and guidance to colleagues across the department
* Leading the lifecycle of production tools, including new platforms and versions
* Leading development and delivery of business processes and associated training
* Overseeing the testing and reporting of new systems to drive improvement
* Providing expert support to our production tool users, investigating issues and developing solutions that fix issues at the root-cause
* Leading preparation of business cases, proposal requests and supplier selection
* Assess and report risks to senior stakeholders
Essential Requirements
* A degree in a Mathematical, Statistical, Computer Science, IS Management or Life Science discipline
* Experience of software engineering and algorithm development, and the ability to work within a computer system validation compliance environment
* A proven record of effective technology project leadership, and the ability to coach and mentor less experienced colleagues
* Excellent software engineering and algorithm development skills supported by a knowledge of Biometrics and Information Science tools and processes
* The confidence to negotiate with senior stakeholders both internally and externally, while acting as our ambassador at conferences and events
Desirable Requirements
* A knowledge of CDASH/SDTM/ADaM CDISC standards
* A strong commercial understanding of clinical drug development and the external market
