As a Business Performance Manager, you'll be at the heart of making a game that is played and loved by millions of players!
You'll be responsible for understanding what's happening in the game, and you'll have a key role in figuring out what to do next to make it even better.
Every studio has a game team (artists, developers, producers, game designers) and a Business Performance team. You will be a bridge between the two - keeping the needs of the product and the business in sync and helping us make the right decisions, in the right way, at the right time.
You'll work with super-smart producers, game designers and data scientists to boost engagement, virality and monetization on Facebook and on mobile. You'll liaise with key stakeholders at C-level, and with heads of studio plus the Marketing, Legal and Finance teams to make your game the best it can possibly be. People will want your help in understanding your team's game - so you'll be both a teacher and a champion for your game, promoting it and raising its profile across the business.
What does that mean in practice?
• Prioritise features, tests and new initiatives for the game team and the Business Performance team
• Be a major stakeholder in the short-, mid- and long-term strategy for your game to maximize players and revenue
• Create, identify and develop innovative ideas to push both your game and King as a whole forward - we cannot and will not stand still!
• Be the #1 person in the company in understanding your game - you are the master of the metrics
• Combine quantitative and qualitative analysis to monitor game performance, fine-tune the mechanics, and increase player retention, virality, conversion and monetization
• Build strong relationships with the producers, game team, and data scientists to ensure a truly collaborative approach
• Share best practices across the wider Business Performance team
• Be an expert on industry trends and the competitor landscape to help evolve our thinking
• Look beyond our current envelopes, business models and platforms to identify key trends, opportunities and threats
• Work closely with Finance on performance trends and forecasting
• Report to senior management on the game?s performance and roadmap
• Travel periodically to our other studios to work face-to-face with your colleagues
What skills do you need?
As a Business Performance Manager, you need a passion for casual games and solid understanding of the industry. You'll love web and mobile products, and you'll be motivated by figuring out how to use data to make them better. You'll have a talent for building strong professional relationships, and your influencing and communication skills should stand out from the crowd.
And for bonus points?
• Prior experience in an industry with short implementation and iteration cycles - if not games, then e-commerce or online products/services
• Strategy or management consulting experience
• MBA in a top-tier business school
• Proven experience in delivering and improving business models which maximize revenue
• Highly analytical nature, with experience of data-driven decision making
• Good understanding of statistics, and the ability to interpret these with confidence and drive through your recommendations
