Innovative Purchasing is a function within Group Trucks Purchasing (GTP). We foster collaboration inside the Volvo Group and with the external world that will position GTP to be in the forefront to grasp emerging technologies and embed sustainability in everything we do.

Our responsibilities can be categorized as follows:
Scouting innovation and new technologies, early phase project management, business intelligence and greenhouse.
In the last few years, data and business intelligence & capturing emerging technology trends has rapidly grown in importance. Those companies and purchasing organizations that harnessed the power of intelligence & exploring emerging technology trends found significant competitive advantage and were able to innovate faster.

Now we are searching for a Business Intelligence Manager within Innovative Purchasing.

Business intelligence mission is to stay fully in sync with the external world, anticipating the future and translate it into GTP value by using all sources available out there. The GTP greenhouse act as an early phase incubator for piloting new innovative technology that could make significant contribution to Volvo Group & GTP. We conduct small scale proof of concepts and piloting ideas before potential implementation.

Mission
To scout, filter and absorb business intelligence from the external world relevant to GTP. > Know yourself, know the others and you will never loose a battle.

Make GTP the most innovative purchasing organization in the industry by exploring early technology trends and create real pilots assessing its value.

Responsibility
Absorbs and consolidates business intelligence (internal/external sources) and translates it into GTP value
Performs detailed pre studies in selected areas of interest, assess its value and recommendation for GTP moving into the future
Performs benchmarks in with world class leading companies in selected areas (specific region of focus is Asia)
Act as project leader for the already selected items in the GTP greenhouse (currently included are blockchain technology, augmented reality, agile way of working, telepresence)
Continue to fill up the GTP greenhouse with more exploration cases (requires EMT approval)
Stays closely connected with the Volvo group new emerging technology network & the GTP operational line organization
Authorities

Member of the Business Intelligence & Greenhouse management team within innovative purchasing.

Competence
Eager to learn and work with your own development. Be the best and strive to be humbly perfect
Masters or bachelor university degree in a scope related field with experience and knowledge of trucks
Ability to act as an business translator. Taking emerging technology trends and translate it into real business value inside GTP
Great communication and networking skills (internal, external, technology), so everyone can understand what you are trying to say
> 5 year experience from the automotive sector and purchasing preferably in a managerial position. Ability to structure, analyze high amount of data and draw conclusions adding value to GTP
Interest in business intelligence matters (Industry in general, competitors, universities, innovation, communication, business models)
Passionate about bringing improvement to the Volvo Group and GTP
