Biocomposites is a newly established business within Stora Enso's division Wood Products. We aim to replace fossil-based plastics with our competitive biocomposites in a wide range of applications. We strive to be a forerunner in this business, delivering high quality products and services to our customers.

Are you ready to take a chance and join the entrepreneurs within Stora Enso? Our team is given the task to develop, scale and grow Stora Enso's Biocomposite business. It will be an attractive opportunity to be part of something from the start where the aim is to steadily replace fossil based materials with materials from our woods. For this organization we are now looking for a Business Development & Innovation Director to join our team.

<p>The Business Development and Innovation Director directs the business development activities and innovation platform related to Biocomposites, playing key role in the business ability to grow.

Key responsibilities:

* Lead a multi-disciplinary team with responsibility for the overall management of innovation and application/business development related to the portfolio.
* Develop and manage research projects and activities supporting the growth strategy.
* Brainstorm and develop solutions for how to improve and develop the portfolio.
* Lead and project manage advanced customer development projects.
* Identify emerging trends and track competitive landscape.
* Direct and coordinates market feedback and research.
* Planning and coordinating the implementation of business plans and the penetration of new markets.
* Leverage/extend an advanced development relevant network with internal experts, external experts and academia, on all levels
* Speak at conferences and build interest for the portfolio.
* Guarantee execution of all projects to expected deliverables in content, budget and milestones



Your background

We are looking for someone with extensive experience driving and implementing the development agenda, including business, application and innovation for a business platform. This means you most likely have experience implementing creative solutions to novel, complex challenges as well as running innovation activities. You are great inspiring leader who knows how to run projects successfully from start to end. You are curious by nature and love to learn and explore. Down to earth, hand-on, but still comfortable to pitch for new ideas in the board room.

You are a strong communicator who can tell the story with passion, get the target group's desire to use our material and in the end, ensure ideas are put into action. You have a drive and passion for developing something new and you are not afraid to test new waters when needed.

University degree, preferably a PhD in relevant filed, with experience of working with selling new products, materials and lobbying for new ideas will be required.

Previous experience working with plastic materials is a big plus. So is also a strong network within the markets we target and access to its decision-makers. Fluency in English with excellent verbal/written communication skills.
